How to get there
Oristano is located at the heart of the wide plain of Campidano, at the centre of the western coast of Sardinia; it is easily reachable either from the sea (ports of Cagliari, Olbia, Golfo Aranci, Porto Torres, Santa Teresa di Gallura, Arbatax) or by plane (Alghero, Olbia, Cagliari).
BY CAR
For those wishing to visit Sardinia by car, four junction roads link the town to State Road 131 (the main highway connecting north and south of the Island): a northern one, an eastern one (with two exits: Silì and Fenosu) and a southern one (exit: Santa Giusta).
State Road 292, characterized by amazing tracts of coastline from Alghero to Oristano, leads to town passing through the marine resorts of Bosa, Tresnuraghes, Santa Caterina and the pinewood of Is Arenas
BY TRAIN
The town has also excellent railway connections, being linked to the main Sardinian railway stations (Cagliari, Sassari, Olbia).
Public services such as taxis and urban bus lines are available in front of the railway station.
Timetables and information are available on Trenitalia website.
